What does Clean-Crafted™ mean?


The short answer: wines that are grown naturally—without the use of synthetic pesticides—and bottled consciously—without added sugars or non-organic chemicals to modify texture, flavor, color or aroma. The result is wine that is natural, delicious and provides an all-around better wine experience —just like nature intended!




How do I purchase? Do I have to go to a tasting?


You can purchase online directly through our website or by working with one of our many amazing Consultants. You don’t have to attend a tasting, but if you have the opportunity, you should check it out. Attending an event is the best way to taste through our current offering of Clean-Crafted Wines, and you’ll learn a thing or two as well!




Why should I partner with an Independent Consultant instead of just ordering Scout & Cellar Clean-Crafted Wine online?


By working with an Independent Consultant, you are getting a much more personalized experience. Your Consultant will begin to understand your taste preferences and help guide you through each wine release. The Consultant will also have increased knowledge and direction on the wines we offer. Working with a Consultant makes it easier for you to order your wines, handle any unlikely issu




How do I manage my account, change my membership options, and/or update payment information?


Simply log into your account via our homepage and edit your profile.




Are there limited quantities of wines available for purchase?


Yep. The bottles we source for our collections are in limited supply but never fear: If we run out of one of your favorites, we’re sure to have another bottle you’ll love.




How often do you change the wines you offer?


Sarah curates several new releases every month. If you love a particular wine from the current release, snag it before it’s gone! If it runs out, we’ll definitely have another bottle that’ll tickle your fancy. In fact, that’s what a personal wine Consultant is here for! Tell me what you loved from our last release and I will lead you to your next favorite.




Can I purchase these wines at a store near me?


No, we do not have any retail locations. We produce Scout & Cellar Clean-Crafted Wines directly from vineyards across the world and delivered right to our Club Members, Consultants, and Customers. We’ll keep you in the loop if anything changes though!




Do you have your own vineyard?


Nope! We partner with growers that farm without synthetic pesticides in the most amazing vineyards around the world.




Does the price change for multiple bottle purchases?


As a matter of fact, it does! By purchasing six bottles, you receive a 5% discount. By purchasing 12 bottles, you receive a 10% discount!




Do you ship to all 50 states?


At this time, we are unable to ship to the following states: Arkansas, Delaware, Kentucky, Mississippi, Rhode Island, Utah, and P.O. Boxes.




Do you ship internationally?


No, we do not ship internationally at this time.




How much does shipping cost?


It varies based on your purchase quantity and the time of year.




How long will it take to receive my order?


If you select ground shipping, 7-12 business days. During the summer months when Scout Safe Ship is in effect, shipping may take a little longer.




How do you ship wine?


FedEx in all states into which we ship.




Do I have to sign for my delivery?


Yes, an adult 21 years of age or older must sign for the delivery. Clean-Crafted Wine cannot simply be left on your doorstep. To limit any delay in receiving your shipment and to ensure your wine is properly handled, please have your wine shipped to a business location or to a FedEx Office location – there are over 1,800 across the country.




What happens if I miss the first delivery attempt?


If for some reason you miss your delivery, contact FedEx at 1-800-463-3339 (1-800-GOFEDEX). FedEx should attempt to deliver on two more occasions. After three failed delivery attempts, FedEx will ship your order back to our winery in Texas. You can also have the package rerouted to the nearest FedEx holding center and pick it up at your convenience. Please be advised that these distribution centers are not conditioned. During the summer months or in warmer climates, your Scout & Cellar wine is particularly susceptible to heat damage if left in an unconditioned space for extended periods of time. Please contact your Consultant or our Support Team for more details.




What happens if my order is returned to the winery?


If your order is shipped back to our winery, our Support Team will send you an email to let you know. From there, you have 5 days to let us know if you’d like us to reship your wine (for a reduced shipping rate of $14), or if you’d like to return the wine for a refund, minus a 25% restocking fee.




Can I return my purchases and get a refund?


Exchange? Yes. Refund? No. Members and Customers, if for any reason you are unhappy with our wines or our services, please let us know and we’ll make it right.




What is your Wine Club Membership cancellation policy?


Incredibly easy and stress-free; that’s what it is! If you'd like to take a break from or cancel your Wine Club Membership, drop us a line and we’ll gladly walk you through the process.




My shipment is damaged. What do I do?


We definitely want to know. Reach out to the Scout & Cellar Support Team as soon as possible and we will make it right. Please be sure to include your order number. We’ll likely ask you for a picture so we can share with our shipper so thanks for your help with that!




Do adverse climates negatively impact my wine in transit?


Normally, yes. But we’re big on making your wine experience perfect, which is why, during the summer months, we use a proprietary cold chain shipping process and environmentally-friendly insulated packaging to protect your wine up until the last mile. And we reserve the right to temporarily pause shipping in certain regions undergoing extreme weather events.




Is your packaging recyclable/sustainable?


It sure is! Both our corrugated boxes and our molded pulp shipping inserts are recyclable. We love nature. Please reuse and recycle your shipping boxes once unpacked!




Where are Scout & Cellar wines sourced?


From all over the world! We produce our wines from grapes grown in the best and still-being-discovered wine regions from Napa Valley to Willamette Valley to Mendoza, Argentina, to Provence, France to La Mancha, Spain. And so many places in between.




How do you verify that the wine is Clean-Crafted?


It’s a multi-part process that involves tasting for deliciousness and a sense of place, working with the grower to understand their practices in the vineyard, verifying reports detailing the viticulture and vinification process behind each wine and conducting at least three distinct lab tests testing down to the parts per billion to confirm that there are no synthetic pesticides or chemicals present and there is less than 100ppm of total SO2.




What are sulfites?


Sulfites are naturally occurring antioxidant and antibacterial compounds in grapes and are utilized to protect the wine from oxygen until it reaches your glass. Because of the slow-crafted, intentional way Scout & Cellar wines are made, they require very little sulfur additions to remain stable. Most have less than 50ppm, all must have less than 100ppm. As a point of reference, the FDA allows up to 350ppm.




What makes a wine vegan?


The reason that all wines are not vegan has to do with how the wine is clarified through a process called “fining.” All young wines are hazy and contain tiny molecules such as proteins, tartrates, tannins and phenolics. These are completely natural and not harmful. However, many wine-drinkers prefer wine to be clear and bright. Most wines, if bottle-aged long enough, will self-stabilize and self-fine. However, producers use a variety of aids called “fining agents” to remove these haze-inducing molecules. Essentially, the fining agent acts like a magnet – attracting the molecules around it. These molecules coagulate around the fining agent, creating fewer but larger particles, which can then be more easily removed during filtration. Commonly-used fining agents include casein (a milk protein), albumin (egg whites), gelatin (animal protein), isinglass (fish bladder protein) and bentonite (clay). These fining agents are notadditives to the wine: they are filtered out along with the haze molecules. Wines fined with casein and albumin are consistent with vegetarian diets while wines fined with any of the four may be off-limits for strict vegans.

Can you help design my event?


Absolutley! We can create visual concepts, provide ideas, and help you develop an overall theme for your event. We will help you plan your event from theme, invitations, advertisments, menus, food pairings to every bottle served.




What are the Five S's of Wine Tasting:


See – Swirl – Sniff – Sip – Savor. Wine tasting should be rewarding and memorable. It should excite the senses, and most importantly, it should be fun. It sounds simple but there is a lot more that goes into a good wine tasting experience. Such as: SEE- Straight Angle View First, allows you to see the wine’s complete color range, not just the dark center. Looking down, you get a sense of the depth of color, which gives a clue to the density and saturation of the wine. Side View, viewing the wine through the side of the glass held in light shows you how clear it is. Tilted View, Tilting the glass so the wine thins out toward the rim will provide clues to the wine’s age and weight. SWIRL- Notice if the wine forms “legs” or “tears” that run down the sides of the glass. This can indicate alcohol and glycerin content, which generally indicates that they are bigger, riper, more mouth-filling and dense than those that do not. SNIFF- This is where you can detect wine flaws and pick out aromas like Fruit, Flowers, Leaves, Herbs, Spices & Vegetables, and Barrel Aromas. SIP- A small sip can go along way to tell you if a wine is balanced and has its basic flavor components in good proportion. Our taste buds detect sweet, sour, salty, and bitter. We can also taste if a wine is harmonious, simple or complex. SAVOR- Sit back and enjoy your delicious wine!




Do you provide food?


No, but we can help you decide on a menu that will pair perfectly with each bottle you choose or work in partnership with a chief.




Do you provide tables, napkins, etc?


No. However, we can provide you with reputable companies that we have partnered with before.
